Preparation of NEPA and CEQA biological documents

We routinely complete biological assessment that is incorporated into NEPA and CEQA documents.  We ensure that our assessments are thorough, accurate, and can stand up to scrutiny.

  •  Preparation of habitat restoration and mitigation plans

Because we design, construct, and monitor mitigation sites in a variety of habitats, we design plans that work and are accepted by state and federal agency staff.

  •  Planning surveys and survey reports (PSR) for Habitat Conservation Plans

We have completed the biological and permitting work for a variety of projects within and associated with HCP’s throughout California, including some of the first work for the East Contra Costa County HCP. These are specialized documents that require an experienced team.

  •  Caltrans Natural Environment Study (NES) and Biological Assessment (BA)

Like other Caltrans documents, BA’s and NES’s are very detailed documents that need to be produced to Caltrans standards.  We have decades of experience working with Caltrans and these types of documents.

Land Management and Open Space Plans

Increasingly, projects are required to provide a significant amount of open space as well as a management plan for these areas as part of their development rights. Our team can quickly identify important resources and work with you to create management plans that make sense and are approved by the local jurisdiction.

  • Vegetation and Invasive Species Management Plans

Vegetation and/or Invasive Species plans are often required for projects as part of local, state, or federal permits. We have experts on-staff that can develop these plans for your project and offer maintenance solutions that are successful but don’t break the bank.

  • Special Area Management Plans (SAMP)

Special Area Management Plans are associated with Corps 404 permits and are large-scale comprehensive plans.  SAMPs are traditionally linked with lands that fall under the jurisdiction of the Coastal Zone Management Act, however, the Corps has indicated that SAMPs are applicable in geographic areas of special sensitivity. We have experts that can successfully navigate your project through this process.
