Zentner Planning and Ecology completed site and species reviews for CEMEX at their Cache Creek gravel mine in order to facilitate a streambed alteration permit from the CDFW. The work involved slope protection in several areas along Cache Creek. We worked with the client and the CDFW to ensure that the permit was expedited so that work could begin on time. We also worked with the CDFW to extend the permit period beyond the usual October 15 deadline to make sure that the work could be finished. During the work, we determined that several more trees had to be removed than originally thought. We quickly consulted with the CDFW and got their agreement to roll the additional tree mitigation into the previously approved requirements without slowing the project.
