• Planning, Design, and Construction of every habitat type in California

Our team has designed and constructed restoration and mitigation habitats for virtually every habitat type in California. Because we design, install, and monitor these restoration areas, we propose projects that work; usually exceeding all required performance criteria.

  • Grading and irrigation planning and setup for restoration areas

Many projects only require conceptual plans, but we produce grading, irrigation, and detailed planting plans for more complicated projects when required. We construct a number of restoration sites each year including the fine grading necessary to make wetlands and creeks that work in California’s difficult arid hydrology.  We complete detailed irrigation plans when necessary and install water saving irrigation systems for specified plants.

  • Plant and seed specifications and installation

Our biologists know the plants that will succeed in a variety of mitigation and restoration habitats and they produce plans and specifications that agencies will accept.  We guarantee the success of our tree, shrub, grass and wetland plants.

  • Native plant salvage and propagation

In some situations, it makes the most sense to take advantage of the material that is already present on a project site.  We plan for and successfully salvage and install in-situ native plant materials.  These often have an extremely high success rate, are well-established, and give the project a boost towards meeting difficult performance standards.

  • Mitigation bank establishment for wetlands and special status species

We work with our clients and the interagency review teams to prepare draft prospectuses, prospectuses and Bank Enabling Instruments to get mitigation banks approved. Though this process can be lengthy our team’s knowledge and experience ensures that the Banks we work on do not get bogged down throughout the design and approval processes.

  • Long-term management plans and Conservation Easement setup

Most onsite mitigation for project impacts require a long-term management plan and a conservation easement. We work on setting up a number of these each year including setting up endowments and identifying the best easement holder for your project.

  • California Rapid Assessment Method (CRAM)

CRAM was created in order to provide consistency of analysis, impacts, and mitigation and restoration performance in a variety of habitats in California. Our staff is trained and approved to complete CRAM analyses.
