Mangels Ranch, which was located adjacent to the City of Fairfield’s Rockville Regional Park, had been family owned and operated for 200 years. When the Ranch was sold for development, our client (Citation Northern) needed a place to complete their mitigation requirements and the City of Fairfield was looking for a way to fund some restoration and improvement projects within Rockville Hills Park. Zentner Planning and Ecology negotiated with State and Federal agency staff to complete the mitigation for the development within the Park, which benefitted both the City and developer. We have continued to partner with the City by developing signage to encourage better understanding of these restored habitats, discussing the restoration in community television programs, and sponsoring community planting days.
